Domaine Mas Bahourat

Domaine Mas Bahourat image Run by Patrick Bech and named after his family’s farm in Algeria, Domaine Mas Bahourat is classified within the Rhône region despite being located in the Costières de Nîmes, an hour south-west of the main Côtes du Rhône valley. Vineyards are solid blocks - long rows on a flat stony plateau - allowing Patrick to use his inherited farming sense to manage the vines efficiently, without diminishing the quality of his grapes. The gems within this affordable single-domaine range are the varietals - particularly Merlot and Viognier - which are released as Vin de Pays du Gard so that each variety can boldly be stated on the front label. The wines are sustainable and the Domaine has HVE 3 Certification (a French agricultural certification that recognises a high level of commitment to protecting and enriching the environment).

A Viognier of intense power, character and zest; soft apricots, honeydew melon with notes of camomile tea are followed by a rich palate and a nostalgic boiled sweet finish.
