For decades now, Toffee Vodka has gained a reputation as being the go-to tipple for skiers and boarders across the French Alps. The delicious combination of creamy toffee and crisp ice-cold vodka proved to be the perfect ‘straight off the slopes’ chill-out drink. And no doubt provided the fuel for some of the more outrageous apres-ski party nights. Back in the 80s and 90s every bar worth its salt across the Alps was creating its own version of this sweet, gooey, boozy bottle of loveliness.  And needless to say, the bars with the best toffee vodka attracted the biggest crowds.
And it was in this hedonistic atmosphere of ‘ski hard and party harder’ that Thunder was born. The creator and founder of Thunder Vodka, was the bar manager at the famous G-Jays bar, nestled directly at the base of the slopes in Val d'Isère.  It was here that he perfected his craft, and G-Jays became widely credited with having the ‘best toffee vodka in town’…. and maybe even the Alps! And the rest, as they say, is history.
